Where does the line lie between a living piece and an unfinished one? *Des-espera* dwells on that very boundary. It is a piece that speaks of a relationship with a past we know, a present we are discovering, and a future that may surprise us. The work is always alive and, therefore, never definitive. Each encounter on stage is unique and fleeting, instantly becoming part of the past. *Des-espera* explores the experience of living in contradiction and embracing that contradiction as a path to growth. Two performers face one another, journeying through five musical pieces and sketching scenes with their bodies, gestures, and words.
